High School Experience
Course choices
My academic interests have been pretty much the same throughout all of middle/high school. I’ve wanted to be a surgeon for about as long as I can remember, but I’m also super interested in creative writing and political science from a leftist perspective. To that extent, most of what I took in high school was STEM related, but every year I always had a few classes in the humanities, like English, us history and African American history.
AP/IBs
I took AP envi sci, AP AB calc, AP BC calc, AP Chem, AP US history, AP Bio, AP Macroeconomics, AP Microeconomics, and AP physics C. I also took AP English language but my school didn’t offer a class on that, I just took it on my own since I was interested in the subject. On all my exams I got 5s, except I haven’t heard back for bio, econ, or physics since I took those this year.
GPA
My school does GPA weird - APs and honor courses are weighted +.333 points and its out of a scale of 4 . So a A+ is a 4.33 and an A+ in an Ap is a 4.66. I had a 3.73 freshman year, 3.67 sophomore year, and 3.97 junior year - cumulative was 3.80.

Why?
Brown and the PLME were my first choice. They have been since I was little. I live right near brown and walk or drive past it almost every day and it just felt like the place I wanted to go to.
